Sason (Sasun)Sason is the northernmost district of the province of Batman. The current district is a only a part of the historical region Sasun, which comprised parts of the contemporary provinces Diyarbakır, Muş and Bitlis. The larger part of Sasun is mountainous. Hidden in its many valleys are large numbers of isolated small villages and hamlets, often consisting of just a few houses, cut off from the outside world in winter.
